Allsorts, Sketch & Stash & Colour Throwdaown Challenges.

I've not done much recently in the way of challenges due to lack of time, so I thought I'd try to combine a couple!
Sketch & Stash have provided a fab sketch to follow and Allsorts have asked for our favourite 'furry friend' images and these, along with Colour Throwdown's colour selection of Eggplant, Bordering Blue and Razzleberry have combined into my project.

The photo doesn't show the colours very well but they are the colours required in a lovely embossed pearl paper. I'll try to take a better photo in daylight if I can.
The gorgeous bears are Mo Manning's and you could colour them any kind of bear-type colour but I really see them as polar bears!
Thank you for looking - I hope you like it!

C.R.A.F.T Challenge 23 - Halloween

This week on C.R.A.F.T the theme has two options. Halloween or Orange & Black.
I don't care for either Halloween or Bonfire Night but have tried to go with the 'spirit' (LOL!) of the thing and try Halloween! And here it is!

You may be surprised to hear this but it's a Mo Manning image... yeah, yeah , yeah - I know! So okay! I like Mo Manning images! Wanna make something of it...?

Well you won't be surprised either, to know it's coloured with Copics!
The plain black base cardstock, I sprayed with webbing and wrapped a purple silk fringed braid around it and edged the front leaf with the same.
I matted Mo's image onto purple silk-finish mirri and made a spider with a circular punchie and the 'legs' from a snowflake punched out of black card. I topped that with black Liquid Applique and a pair of googly eyes.

Why don't you pop over to C.R.A.F.T to play? We're very friendly...!

Hope you like it!
Thanks for looking!

C.R.A.F.T DT Challenge 22 - Anniversary

I'm a bit late posting this...! LOL! It should have gone on on Thursday but I forgot! It's my C.R.A.F.T Challenge DT card for this week for the theme 'Anniversary. My usual 21cm square card in Laura Ashley style. It also smells divine because I made it out of the Laura Ashley 'Fresh Linen & Jasmine' drawer-liners and their packet!
The inner is made from the drawer-liner and the outer card is the packet. I made an aperture by cutting out the label and layered my stamped image, which is an Anna Griffin stamp coloured with Copics.
Hope you liked it and joined in the C.R.A.F.T Challenge!

The Gift

A friend was having a little trouble stamping onto pearlescent card and I was pretty sure Brilliance inkpads work well on glossy cards & vellum so I had a little play with a similar stamp and card and Brilliance Lightning Black. Here's the result. I used a bit of glue-pen & glitter for the snow.

I thought this would also be suitable for the monochrome challenge on Allsorts but left it too late! LOL!
Hope you like it!

LLB Specal Friend Card

Having acquired two sets of LLB as a gift and not being able to sell them on (I don't really care for them) I thought I'd set myself the challenge of trying to use them.

I can't say they inspired me - they're a bit fussy for my taste and too 'designerish' - they don't leave much room for you to add anything, they're so 'in your face'.

But, I like a challenge - so here is my effort!

It's for my very good friend Roni who has a birthday at the end of the month. She has been a very, very good friend to me and my family for over twenty-eight years (I was expecting Rob, my number three son when we met) and even though she has had some dreadful times in her life she still remains a kind and caring person.

For the front of the 21cm square card, I used the outer page of the pad (...waste not, want not...! LOL!) and, rare for me, silver corner peel-offs.
A lipstick pink ribbon from the kit and a message mat stamped in lipstick red and silver, and the front was done! Very quick & easy!

The inner is always a problem in 21cm square cards as only A3 is big enough to use without a seam but I wanted to use the patterned paper to match the front, so I seamed it onto white and placed the verse on the white mid-space. Another piece of the same ribbon and the inner is done too. It may not look it, but those roses are silver-foiled.

A very quick and easy card and surprisingly.....I actually quite like it!
Hope you like it too!
Thank you for looking!

Happy Birthday Cheryl!

It was my good friend Cheryl's 50th birthday this week and I've infected her with 'MoManningitis' - LOL! - so I made this card for her with much love.
She did say she loved it so I can put it on here now!

It's my usual 21cm square cardstock and everything else is from stash. The two papers I picked especially for the gentle, dreamy quality.
The image is Mo Manning and coloured with Copics - what else?! LOL!
Cheryl had a wonderful birthday and I hope it continues for her!
Congrats again Cheryl!

C.R.A.F.T DT Challenge 21 - Willow Owl Card

For this week's C.R.A.F.T Challenge 21, Willow Designs have kindly donated a selection of their lovely digistamps from which comes this super-cute lickle owl, waiting for Santa to come!

He's coloured with Copics (...what a surprise...!) and glittered for the snow. The snowflake border is a Fiskars border punch and the papers are fab quality from Creata Christmas Cuties. I wish I could find them again (...I've looked...!) as both the papers and the (...not so...) lickle stickers that match are lovely and I'm now running out! LOL!
The cardstock is A4 scored & folded at about 21cm and the square placket cut from Mirri card and mounted with the image.
Thank you for looking - I hope you like it!

Multi-cultural Snowbabies!

I really like Jenni Hamilton's Snowbaby stamp and wanted to do more with it and this is what I came up with!
I'd coloured a few of the original in and couldn't decide which one to use as I loved them all so I asked my fellow C.R.A.F.T DT members which one to use and they said 'All of them!' so here we are ....... with a further twist!

I love the idea of all those lickle Snowbabies playing in the snow together and enjoying Christmas and indeed perhaps real peeps should take a leaf too.......

This is in the way of a prototype - I wanted to send the image to Jenni first to get her permission to 'change' it in this way and she is very happy for me to do this. I would never use another artist's image in a way they didn't like.
I will be using it again!
Thank you for looking!

I am so chuffed! I have been selected to act as a guest DT member at Copics Colour Challenge on 28th October!
This is just so exciting for me! As you may or may not know, I quite like the odd Copic pen....LOL! and I am a regular entrant in their fab challenges.
I will endeavour to continue to improve in my colouring and if you're at all interested, check back on the 28th October!

C.R.A.F.T Challenge 20 - DT card - Autumn Memories

This week's C.R.A.F.T Challenge (20) is an inspirational one, from this photo, so I've selected the colours you see here from the picture.

The image is, once again, Mo Manning but this time it's Poppa and granddaughter and they're dancing. The image is coloured, as usual, with Copics, this time colours C3, E33, YG23, YR16 and Y21.
The verse is my own.
Thank you for looking - I hope you like it!

Merry Chrimble...! - Spoonful of Sugar Challenge 71

For this week's challenge, Spoonful of Sugar has 'Christmas' - so, here are Bella and Bronte again politely and gently opening their presents.....NOT! LOL!

I love the Mo Manning images and as always, have coloured with Copics.
Hope you like it! Thanks for looking!

WW Challenge 19 and Spoonful of Sugar 71

I must have been a bit psychic when I bought this fab Mo Manning digistamp! Bella & Bronte in the sled - Bronte looks terrified - talk about white-knuckle! LOL!
It's ideal for Winter Wonderland's Challenge 19 - Sleighbells ring...! And Spoonful of Sugar's 'Christmas' theme.
The cardstock has white 'velvet' snowflakes on it so I chalked these with differnt shades of blue (mainly so you couls see them...!) and mounted the image and the motto on pale blue glitter card.
Of course, the image is coloured with Copics.
Thaks for looking and I hope you like it!

Autumn Inspiration - One Stop Challenge 49

I made this card for a friend's 50th birthday and she should have well had it by now, so here it is! I've also made it with the OneStop Challenge 49 in mind, hence the Autumn colours (...doncha just LOVE Autumn colours...?)

I used K&Co Brenda Walton papers, Prima Blooms and a Gorjuss Girl stamp coloured, as usual, with my lovely Copics.
The cardstock was plain white, scored and folded at one third and the placket with the image is backed with a printed vellum which I edged with my Martha Stewart border punch.
Hope you like it - thank you for looking!

C.R.A.F.T. DT Challenge 19 - Sweet Snowbaby

For my C.R.A.F.T DT project this week,we're using a lovely sketch by our own Suzi and on my card, I'm proud to present my friend Cardmadfairy's creation 'Sweet Snowbaby'.
'Snowbaby', amongst other delightful Jenni Hamilton designs and characters, has been available in digistamp for a couple of weeks but now - fantastic news - Jenni's now got them in clear acrylic too!
Now for those of us with an addiction to inkpads, this is, indeed, good news! LOL!

I'm sure you too will have a lot of fun working with both of these fab creations and be in with a chance of some equally fab candy, when you come over to play at C.R.A.F.T!

Hope you like my card - thanks for looking!
